Southern States Junior Classics' (SSJC) third season will present 6 regional championships and 1 team invitational at 7 outstanding Tennessee and Georgia area golf courses in 2018. Our previous events have featured junior golfers who represented 10 states (TN, GA, NC, MS, AL, TX, KY, SC, IN, & VA). There will be 5 boys and 5 girls age divisions for junior golfers ages 6 - 18. SSJC Regional Championships are first class multi-day events designed for junior golfers to establish and enhance their junior golf ranking while competing for national junior tour performance based entry opportunities. Caddies are encouraged for all players in all age divisions. SSJC SUMMER OPEN is our highly anticipated 3rd annual 3-day event. JOSHUA CUP is a junior girls match play team invitational which features a modified Solheim Cup style format. Junior Golf Scoreboard publishes the results of our events for junior golf ranking purposes. American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) recognizes our qualifying SSJC age division results for Performance Based Entry (PBE Stars). Hurricane Junior Golf Tour awards all SSJC SUMMER OPEN age division champions with qualifying spots into their national championship events. SSJC participants are awarded Tennessee Golf Association Player of the Year points for our events which are contested in TN. Aligned with our mission, all intention is to deliver annual best-in-class events that build confidence and develop character within participants.
We believe our events are compelling and will stand out among peers. First, in the spirit of our value: Family First, caddies are allowed in all age divisions. A parent, relative, or close family friend has the opportunity to "step inside the ropes" and enjoy walking the fairways as a teammate of their junior golfer. These opportunities are rare in top level junior golf competitions, and we are confident that our SSJC caddie policy is a positive differentiator. Finally, we are laser focused on building memorable experiences. Southern States Junior Classics strives to provide annual destinations for aspiring junior golfers and their families for years to come.
